Fitd is a new way of buying clothes online. By matching your body measurements with fit data curated from the world’s clothing brands, we have created a service that aims to finally let you find and buy clothes that fit, without ever needing a fitting room.
Once you enter (or let us predict) your body measurements, we automatically match you with garments from a huge range of online apparel retailers to find those whose fit data matches your individual body shape. We also let you see which specific body measurement points (e.g., chest, waist, sleeves) are a match for each garment. From there, you can use our flexible filtering tools to choose your individual fit preferences, allowing you to decide how perfect a fit you desire for the body measurement points that matter to you the most.
To get started, let us predict your body measurements by simply answering a few easy questions like what is your age and height. For an even better fit, ask a friend or local tailor to measure you using our handy downloadable measurement instructions.
Unfortunately, not yet. But that is our ultimate goal! For now, we are simply matching your body measurements with retailers’ fit data that we have been able to obtain from publicly available sources (and in some cases, from the retailers themselves). This data may or may not be up to date or 100% accurate. We encourage you to click on the body icon on each garment card to see which of your body measurements are being matched exactly to the fit data. Once you make a purchase, please be sure to let us know if the garment does not fit you well. This feedback will be extremely important for us to be able to continue to improve our predictive model, as well as notify retailers that their fit data is not correct. See the FAQ below for additional information about what to do if a garment you purchase does not fit.
Trust us when we say that we understand your frustration! Buying clothes online only to realize they don’t fit well is exactly the problem Fitd was created to solve. Unfortunately, at this stage we don’t have the staffing to test every single one of the tens of thousands of the available garments (although we have spot checked many with very positive results!). In a future update, we plan on enabling users to rate the fit of their purchases. In the meantime, before purchasing, please click on the body icon on each garment card to see which of your body measurements are being matched. Then, if the garment still does not fit at each matched body measurement point as indicated, please either user the fit feedback option within the site or drop us a line at email@example.com and let us know the following: (a) your name and email address, (b) the garment name, brand and size, and (c) how the garment fit at each of the matched body measurement points on a 1-5 scale (1 being too loose, 3 being just right, and 5 being too tight). Your fit feedback will help us make modifications to the fit data and/or work with the retailers directly to achieve better fit predictability.
We’re glad you asked! Our primary goal in the short term is to get as much feedback as possible from our early users so that we can be sure that Fitd is doing what it promises; namely, helping you find and buy clothes that just fit. But between you and me, we have a ton of features we want to implement if we get off the ground, so please tell your friends about Fitd so we can continue to build as we grow!
Your privacy is very important to us. We will never release user measurement or demographic data to third parties in a way that identifies you without your permission. In the future, we hope to make anonymized data available to retailers and researchers so that the clothing industry as a whole can improve the way it fits apparel to consumers.
